10 places to visit this summer – Croatia

For this Addition we will be travelling closer to home…

This week we travel to Croatia, with Sarah,a travel blogger, wife and mother of three children ranging from twelve to twenty.

Finding somewhere to travel with my husband, two sons and daughter is a hard task. With the additional struggle to satisfy my eldest son’s need for sport, my daughter’s need for water and my youngest son’s hatred of flying and all things adventurous makes holiday planning a nightmare. My husband and I end-up disagreeing, someone will complain and someone else will cry. When we saw an advertisement for Pula in Croatia on the travel website, we had this wonderful feeling, like this might be our chance to make everyone happy. So, we booked it. Without thinking. On a whim. For a forward and precise planner, spontaneity isn’t my thing. Ever. This excited the kids.

We booked a villa for ten days and decided to fly with easyJet. The flight only took two hours, much to my son’s relief. Our activities included; wondering around and exploring Croatia, going to visit the historical attractions such as the Pula Amphitheatre and going out for dinner. As we stayed in a villa we didn’t go out every night and instead cooked for ourselves. We were a ten-minute walk away from the little corner shop which was great and really easy. Our private villa had it’s own swimming pool, six beach loungers, barbecue and a table that fits eight. There was a bus stop about fifteen minutes away from the villa which took us into town,  where we ate out and had some relaxing early evening walks. During our time in Pula we took a wonderful boat trip to Brijuni Island National Park. We sunbathed, met some donkeys and had lunch while over-looking the transparent turquoise sea; a great place for us all to snorkel and swim with tropical fish.

We begin our travels in Walt Disney World, Florida and Universal Orlando Resort, with travel blogger Lucie, a wife and mother of two daughters, aged twelve and sixteen.

My husband and I decided to surprise our daughters with a trip to Walt Disney World, Florida in the Easter Holidays. We never thought we would ever have the opportunity to go, but when my husband received his army pension, we booked the ‘trip of a lifetime’. My eldest was revising for her GCSE’s and the upcoming holiday  kept her going through the final few months before exams. Our twelve year old had dreamt of visiting Disney Land for years so you can imagine her reaction at hearing the confirmation of booking this particular trip!
